Canucks Overcome Late Leafs Comeback, Garland and Miller Score Late to Steal Win

The Vancouver Canucks overcame a late Toronto Maple Leafs comeback to secure a 4-3 victory on Friday night at Rogers Arena.

Casey DeSmith made 17 saves to earn his eighth win of the season, while Connor Garland and JT Miller scored late to give the Canucks the win.

The Canucks took an early lead when Tyler Myers scored a shorthanded goal just over five minutes into the game. Brock Boeser and Garland added goals in the second period to give the Canucks a 3-0 lead.

The Maple Leafs fought back in the third period, scoring three goals in the final seven minutes of the game. Auston Matthews scored twice, including one with just over two minutes remaining, to tie the game.

However, Miller came up with the game-winner with just 33 seconds left in regulation, giving the Canucks the victory.

The Canucks will now head out on a three-game road trip, starting with a game against the Edmonton Oilers on Sunday.
